Behind the Scenes of the Collection: Five Works Head to Jihlava in September
When it is said that works from the collection are loaned for an exhibition, most people imagine that final moment – paintings hanging on the walls of the gallery under the beams of spotlights. The journey to that moment is, however, a more complex process full of precise work that remains hidden from the public eye.
In September 2026, I am expecting a great joy. We are loaning a total of five works from the Robert Runták Collection for the upcoming exhibition of Jiří Příhoda at the Regional Gallery of Vysočina in Jihlava. This means that the condition of all selected works must be carefully checked, and four of them will even be newly adjusted (framed). Subsequently, we will prepare the works for safe transport, which is arranged by the gallery itself. Logistics and art protection are absolutely key in this regard – every detail, from the correct frame to safe packing, determines whether the works arrive in Vysočina in perfect condition. All works must, of course, be insured from 'nail to nail', which means that the insurance covers any potential damage to the works from the moment of release until their return to the depository.
To this post, I am attaching a photograph of one of the five selected works by Jiří Příhoda that you will soon be able to see in Jihlava.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you can easily track the movement of works from the collection online as well. In the **ON VIEW** section of this website, you will find an up-to-date overview of all works from the collection that are currently loaned for exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
This way, you have a perfect overview of where our art is currently living its own life. Follow the Robert Runták Collection and plan a trip to Vysočina this autumn!
